XBX has heard numerous ideas for Web sites over the years. Minutaur is by far one of the most unique and interesting ideas we have come across. Brainchild of Jeff Trotter and his son Elliot (Jeff was a previous satisfied client of XBX with his former medical research firm's Web presence and Elliot is well versed in creating viral material for the Web), the recently launched Minutaur is poised to become a next sensation in Internet communities. Knowing that they were on to something that needed a creative Web approach, the Trotters met with XBX's Don Weismantel to flesh out the idea. The premise was to sell time... important moments of time, much like how International Star Registry sells the naming of stars. The original idea was to allow the purchase of a certificate showing "ownership" of the user's official moment in time. As the discussion continued, Weismantel was instrumental in fleshing out the additional online capabilities of that would make Minutaur go well beyond that original idea. Elliot Trotter added that the site should have a community flair with the ability to add comments to moments and friend other members, etc. Besides a clock (called the Minutwheel) which forever ticks each minute and displays a user's moment in time if there is a match, there is also robust search functionality that allows numerous methods to find moments and members of interest. A novel twist is the ability to include a YouTube® video with your moment. This can be a video loaded by the user or any video which pertains to that moment. Since the whole site revolves around time, advertising opportunities are also time related. There are sponsorship positions for year, season, month, day of the week, specific day as well as any other ad on the site can be time based and appear only the time of day that a sponsor wants it to. XBX is currently building a Facebook® application to allow Minutaur members to display their moments on their Facebook profiles as well. Here are a couple example moments in time... join Minutaur and add your own! http://minutaur.com/gotopage.asp?moment=3543 http://minutaur.com/gotopage.asp?moment=1284 http://minutaur.com/gotopage.asp?moment=4372
